Roman catholics are under obligation to attend mass on Sundays and holy days. If a person is cross dressed (dressed as a member of his/her opposite sex), does that satisfy this obligation ?

If a man dresses as his female alter-ego and attends Mass on Sunday, then the Church recognizes that his/her obligation is fulfilled. The Church makes no distinction between genders. However, the Church would recommend that the crossdresser seek counseling.

God is pretty clear on how we should dress. The Bible actually talks about people wearing the clothes of the opposite sex....

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
(Deuteronomy 22:5)

P.I.T. hit the nail on the head. I am protestant and not catholic, but we would have the same issue with the person taking communion. The person would be disobeying God at the same time as accepting communion which should only be taken if you are walking with God.

It all depends on why the person is cross-dressing.

Exactly what type of cross is he/she wearing?
