cartilage piercing?

is it ok to get yopur cartilag epiercecd with the Inverness System 2000 ??? its a gun, but is a "push" gun.

sure - if you want the extended healing time and increased likelihood of infection that goes with any 'gun' piercing.

cartilege piercings are harder to heal anyway than lobe piercings, and more likely to get and keep infection (helped by the limited blood supply in the area), and forcing a blunt post through with a gun (not guaranteed to be sterile - you can't sterilise them like you can needles in an autoclave machine) will cause far more trauma to the ear than a sharp sterile needle will.

but hey, it's up to you...

NO, NEVER! Piercing guns are only approved for use on ear lobes...NOT cartilage....and even for lobes they should be banned.

Here are just some of the reasons why: (I pulled these from an answer I left in response to a similar question a few weeks ago so I wouldn't have to retype them)

Infection

Blood-borne diseases cause by backspray from previous customers on the gun and the fact that it is NOT sterilized between customers.

Possiblity of the gun shattering your cartilage

The fact that the person piercing you will more than likely only have a few hours of training compared to a professional doing it with a year or more of training and taking different courses.

The gun uses blunt force to push the earring through the cartilage, whereas a needle makes a "clean cut" through the cartilage.

Prolonged healing time (typical healing time with a needle is 4 months to a year, depending upon your body's readiness to heal itself, the gauge, and location of the piercing on your cartilage)

Increased Hypodermic scarring (piercing bumps)

Increased tenderness and swelling...

Go to a professional piercer and have it done with a needle. If you are under 18, most places will do it with parental consent (so take your mom/dad and make sure that you have an ID that has the same last name and address as theirs, if not, take your birth certificate).

i had my ear cartilage pierced with that. it went by fast. hurt like hell (it's cartilage you're piercing, of course it'll hurt) but it healed okay. just take care of it like any other piercing and you'll be fine
