I'll tell you...a blind, deaf, quadriplegic that happens to be an atheist.

My point is centered on atheism, and I am not trying to offend anyone. If I do, you have my sincerest apologies. Those who deny GOD are handicapped when they refuse to acknowledge the presence of GOD through the eyes of faith. It's that mysterious sixth sense that people are not able to quantify. GOD is everywhere, and is responsible for everyday things that we take for granted, and thus we are not able to comprehend it in the typical five senses. Open your heart to GOD, if you haven't already, and discover the truth. GOD is timeless, infinite, and all-knowing. HE is the best resource for all things. If you don't believe me, just ask HIM...you'll see.

Obviously, I've offended some people. Whether you believe my apology or not, like it or not, truth hurts. The fact of the matter is, you'll get over it. "Proof of GOD" requires an act of faith, plain and simple. Some people are just afraid to make that leap of faith. I am blunt and I probably could have made this question/comment a little easier on the eyes, but I don't care. If atheists can't handle what they dish out regularly on here, then too bad. The truth is what it is. I'm not going to sugar-coat it for anyone.

God is wonderful and serving Him is a joy. He really does heal the sick (I have experienced miracles) and care about the wounded (emotionally, physically, spiritually). Just ask Him, He is more than ready to reveal Himself to you. You have not really felt loved until you feel His presence. I have not lost out at all since I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, in fact my life as been a wondrous journey. Try it you will love it.

Goodness. Why did you ask a question and then answer it yourself?

My answer is" The most handicapped person is the one who believes themselves to be so. It's all about our brain and how we use it. I don't know what atheism and God have to do with it specifically. Not believing in the God that society says is "right" will not make you more or less handicapped. Your choices will.

And just fyi - everybody doesn't think God is a "he" - and some may find that offensive.

As a christian it's wrong to judge others therefore if I was to say " An atheist is wrong because they don't believe the way I do". Then I'm judging them. So I can't say they are handicapped. All I could say is that I believe having accepted Christ as "my savior" has made me personally a better more forgiving person.

But where is your proof?? Were you there when the Bible was written? Did you physically witness God creating everything? A 'mysterious' sixth sense? I thought Christians were against the occult! And what truth is there to discover, really? I ask you, where is your proof of your God?

Actually those who listen and follow without question and who limit their experience by rejecting other possibilities are the one who are spiritually handicapped. God is everything. The only way to know God is to be open to any experience he presents to you so that you can learn form it and grow towards him. When you reject or invalidate an atheist experience you are handicapping your own spiritual growth.

you DO offend, and your apology for same is bogus, as you realized before hand that you would offend. Those who are so narrow minded as to refuse to accept or even consider the possibility that their "god" is not the be all end all to the Universe are the most handicapped....they miss out on so much rich in culture and and understanding of others. I put to you that this narrow minded, obsessive compulsion to refuse to so much as consider other view points is one of the major reasons for war and conflict in this world.

You knew very well this is an offensive statement that would stir up trouble. Stop preaching and live life!!

Again, this is not a qeustion, it is a sermon. If an atheist asked the same question, and then answered that it was theists or Christians who were most handicapped, YOU would be offended.

Golden rule anyone ?

Try to take this as constructive. I do sincerely mean it that way.

Part of Christianity is to bring other people to Christ. In other words, convert people. You have to present your thoughts in a way that might do that.

I can tell by your question that you may not come across to people that way. You don't want to give the impression that there's an ego based "Who's Right" to your motives. Christ forgave people before they converted. Attitude only drives people further away.
