If you feel you can cut out soda altogether, that would be best. However, I limit myself to 2 a day and it hasn't hurt my diet. But the less you drink, the better for your health.

A good trick to cut down: when you are thirsty and crave a coke, force yourself to drink a glass of water first. You may find you don't want the Coke anymore.

As a Diet Crack addict (let's face it, it is addictive) and a yo-yo dieter, I have to honestly say that I did not notice a difference in weight loss/gain or overall health in regards to my Diet Coke consumption. And I swear the stuff is addictive! I was a 6-pack a day drinker, now I have 1 a day, maybe. However, even if Diet Coke does not have a role in weight loss or gain, a general rule I follow is for every carbonated/caffeinated drink I have, I drink 2 servings of water...that's on top of my normal daily intake; same for alcohol. Simply because these types of beverages are diuretics (they make you pee a lot...thus losing water). There may be other health implications associated with Diet drinks (aspartame as a sweetener) but as far as weight loss goes, just be sure to drink enough water.

Not drinking cokes alone you can drop 10lbs in 2 wks on a diet. This goes for diet sodas as well. But, if you must have that soda try and cut back to 1 a day. And if you are committed try not drinking them all together.

Best to drink water. If you insist on a coke only drink 1-2 a day.

I'm on the diabetic diet, which is very strict--only so many portions of each type of food every day (like eating only the portions listed on the food table). But there are some free foods, and you can have as many of those as you want. That list includes sugar-free candy, beef bouillion, and sugar-free soft drinks. The only thing you might want to watch is your caffeine intake, but even that won't necessarily affect your diet.

some experts say not to have more than one because Diet Coke make you crave fat. However, if you can deal with the cravings and stick to your diet than I think you are allowed to have as many as you want. Its not that great for you, but it will fill you up without calories.

First let me congratulate you for wanting to go on a diet.
Second, any form of soda is not going to help you on your diet. It is bad for you and will not help in weight loss. The sugar used in diet soda is artificial and actually slows you down in weight loss.

Diet soda will not help you lose weight I cant stress that enough, so don't think just because you had a big mac you can wash it down with a diet soda and say its ok.

Drink water!!!! and EXERCISE!!!

No more than 2. The sodium will mess up your diet. Drink water.

Believe it or not, Diet drinks can be just as bad when trying to loose weight as regular soda. I would suggest drinking water. If you need to add some flavor, put in some lemon or lime or both. Both are detoxifying and can actually help weight loss.
