I don't believe they are "always" lumped together. Just by the people who want to find a way to get others to hate them. Same is done with blacks, Mexicans, and gay people.
Christians assume that there is only one version of God, the one defined my Middle Eastern peoples many years ago and made official by the Roman Empire.

Atheists being lumped into one group? Well, I know this come as a surprise to you, like most everything does, but although atheists are individuals and surely not all of them are the same, still they are of one common belief or disbelief.
Surely all "true" atheists are of the same mold. That can not be disputed.

I think you are reading more into it than we mean. I am Christian and I know that the only thing you all agree on is that you don't believe there is a God. We know that beyond that basic belief the sky is the limit.

Same reason that Christians and Muslims do.
No one seems to answer questions; they all just spread their personal messages of hate (generally). People don't want to take the time to learn about each other, just criticise. For those who want to ask there are too few offering answers.

We are generally unaware of the subgroups or sects of Atheism. Can you provide a link or give us some names they go by.

Sorry 'bout that. As a Christian (see, you've just "grouped" me!) I'll try not do that in the future. Will you, though?
