Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (also known as The Bhagavata Purana, or simply Bhāgavatam) is one of the Puranas. Its primary focus is the process of bhakti yoga (loving devotion to the Supreme Lord) in which Vishnu or Krishna is understood as the Supreme all-embracing God of all Gods (Bhagavan). Earlier sections of the literature contain stories of devotees and objects of their devotion: the various avataras of Krishna or Vishnu. The most famous section is the 10th Canto, which deals in detail with the story of Krishna's appearance and pastimes in Vrindavan.
The Bhagavata Purana describes Krishna's childhood pastimes as that of a much-loved child raised by cowherds in Vrindavan, near to the Yamuna River. The young Krishna enjoys numerous pleasures, such as thieving balls of butter or playing in the forest with his cowherd friends. He also endures episodes of carefree bravery protecting the town from demons. More importantly, however, he steals the hearts of the cowherd girls (Gopis). Through his magical ways, he multiplies himself to give each the attention needed to allow her to be so much in love with Krishna that she feels at one with him and only desires to serve him. This love, represented by the grief they feel when Krishna is called away on a heroic mission and their intense longing for him, is presented as models of the way of extreme devotion (bhakti) to the Supreme Lord.

The Bhagavad Gita means Song of God is a Sanskrit text from the Bhishma Parva of the Mahabharata epic. Due to differences in recensions they may be numbered in the full text of the Mahabharata as chapters 6.25 – 42 or as chapters 6.23-40. According to the recension of the Gita commented on by Shankaracharya, the number of verses is 700, but there is evidence to show that some old manuscripts had 745 verses.
Krishna, as the speaker of the Bhagavad Gita, is referred to within as Bhagavan (the divine one), and the verses themselves, using the range and style of Sanskrit meter (chandas) with similes and metaphors, are written in a poetic form that is traditionally chanted; hence the title, which translates to "the Song of the Divine One". The Bhagavad Gita is revered as sacred by the majority of Hindu traditions, and especially so by followers of Krishna. It is commonly referred to as The Gita.
The content of the text is a conversation between Krishna and Arjuna taking place on the battlefield of Kurukshetra just prior to the start of a climactic war. Responding to Arjuna's confusion and moral dilemma, Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and Prince and elaborates on a number of different Yogic and Vedantic philosophies, with examples and analogies. This has led to the Gita often being described as a concise guide to Hindu philosophy and also as a practical, self-contained guide to life. During the discourse, Krishna reveals his identity as the Supreme Being Himself (Bhagavan), blessing Arjuna with an awe-inspiring glimpse of His divine absolute form.
The Bhagavad Gita is also called Gītopaniṣad as well as Yogupaniṣad, implying its status as an 'Upanishad'. Since it is drawn from the Mahabharata, it is a Smṛti text, however referring to it as an Upanishad is intended to give it status comparable to that of śruti, or revealed knowledge.-

The answer is Shreemad Bhagavatam deals with all avatars of Lord Vishnu where as Geeta deals mainly with lord Krishna.
Let me explain in clear Srimad bhagwatam is one of the puranas(a part of the literature of Hinduism). Its primary focus is the process of bhakti yoga (loving devotion to the Supreme Lord ).The BhÄgavatam describes the various lÄ«lÄs of different avatÄras of Vishnu.)And it also narrates the stories and experiences of the bhaktas.
Where as Geeta or Bhagavad geeta focuses on lord Krishna. The content of the text is a conversation between Krishna and Arjuna taking place on the battlefield of Kurukshetra just prior to the start of a climactic war.

Shri Bhagwat is basically about the life of Vishnu/krishna. It has many other stories in it and is a bible of the vaishnavaites.
There is another book called Mahabhart which has the story of Kauravas and Pandavas, along with something about Krishna
In Mahabharat, while telling about the War, it is also told that Shri Krishna gave a sermon to Arjuna and showed him his Viraat swarup
Geeta is basically only that portion of Mahabharat.. and tell in details what Shri Krishna told and what were doubts of Arjuna.
Geeta is a great precis of hindu philosophy as it has a gist of almost all major upanishadas in a short form
If one has to understand the philosophy of Hinduism Geeta is the best recommendation. There are thousands of comementaries on geeta, which gives the views of the commentator too..
i liked the best commentary by Shri Aurobindo, essays by Dr. Radhkrishnan, and by Osho. the next better and detailed is by Gyaneshwari Geeta by sant Gyaneshwar
Isckon's translation is also a good reading for the starters...

Srimadbhagvatam is the ocean of bhakti and knowledge.ITS CALLED SUKH SAAGAR-THE OCEAN OF BLISS.It was written by Vyasadeva for all hindus and not "Vaishnavaas" alone. Vyaasadeva wrote many hindu scriptures but didnt feel satisfied until he wrote Srimadbhagvatam because without the description of Lords incarnations, his fame and glory none of the Hindu scriptures stand complete.
Srimadbhagvatam preaches bhakti/devotion and talks about the avtaaras/incarnations of lord Narayan;the various ages, the hindu kings etc.ITS THE SUMMARY OF ALL PURANAS
Bhagvat Gita has the sermons of lORD Krishna to Arjuna on the field of Kurukshetra where the battle of Mahabharata took place. It has complete knowledge of the divine.IT IS THE SUMMARY OF ALL UPANISHADS.it mentions all gyaana/knowledge but has no DESCRIPTION of Gods avtaaras and other stories that are mentioned in Srimadbhagvatam
Both are must read for Hindus

Its very simple Gita is spoken directly by Lord and lays down the foundation of rules & regulations & eternal principles of religion whereas Srimad Bhagvatam is spoken about the devotees of the Lord & shows us how the principles of Gita are enacted & get a more clearer picture of these religious principles. In other words Srimad Bhagavatam explains Bhagavad Gita more clearly & Sri Chaitanya Caritmarta explians Srimad Bhagavatam more clearly and is an advanced study of Srimad bhagavatam as Srimad bhagavatam is an advanced of Bhagavad gita.So in a nutshell each book gives more clearer picture of the other.Studying Gita is doing a degree course,Srimad bhagvatam study is post degree course and Sri Chaitanya Caritamrta is doing a Phd in religion & spiritual science

(1) Sri Bhagavad Geetha is a part of Maha Bharatham--in the battle field sri.Arjuna hesitates to fight his own Grand father-Bishma- (Pitaamaha) and his revered Guru sri.Drona Achaarya. Sri.Krishna teaches him the essence of Life in 18 chapters(700+ verses). Drudhraashtra uncle of Arjuna and father of Kauravas -asks sri.Sanjaya (his car driver) "what is happening in the battle field?.In the 1st stanza itself the entire Philosophy of sri.Bhagavad Geetha is there. It is the greatness of maharishi.Sri Veda Vyaasa.--Kshetram means Place or Body (Somatic and Psychic) Kuru means where Action takes place( it is derived from the root (Dhatup) "Kr"--from which the words Karma, Kartha, Karomi, Karothi, Kriya, Kruthmam all derived. The duty of the body is to maintain righteous conduct in self and world around-So sri.Bhagavad Geetha starts "Dharma Kshetray ,Kurukshetray, Maamakaa (it is the Ego of the emperor) Pandavaaschaiva( partiality towards his own brother''s sons to whom the empire belongs)---kim Akurvatha Sanjaya"
srimad Bhaagavatham (18 chapters) is the story told by sri .Sukha Brahma Rishi-Son of sri.Veda v yaasa- to King Parikshit-Grand son of Arjuna-son of sri.Krishna's nephew Abhimanyu--on the bangs of GANGA -Sukasthalam-{(it is there today also-people can visit-I have visited)}-----in 7 days the Dasa Avathathaaram (10 incarnations of GOd sri.Vishnu) is described.on 7 th day king Parikshid had a curse that he was to be stung fataly by a poisonous serpent-he tried to escape ,in vain-Karma did its job.-so he wanted to listen the story of srimad Bhagavatham. The Vata Vraksham (Banyan tree)under which the story was told is there even today, where people read srimath Bhagavatham in 7 days for some of their vishes to be fulfilled

Bhagavadgita- Song of God, to raise the spirits and erase the igonrance of Arjuna and to clear his delusion.
Srimadbagvatham- Basically a dicourse given by Suka to Parishit, who was nearing his end. It is elborate version of Yoga(Union with God). A person who sincerely hears the Discourse of Srimadbagvatham will attain Lord Sri Narayana.
It deals with life and submission of ourself to the lotus feet of God. The various stories and leelas(Gods divine plays) in it draws the mind towards God and increases our Awareness and love towards Him.
P.S.
Parishit heard the Complete discourse frist hand from Suka and when he was dying he felt the presence of God and attained him.
