What age do most people find their true attraction to the opposite sex?

I have had an attraction for guys my entire life.But sometimes my HOCD gets in the way of that.My mother says that all the girls in my family start really being attracted to guys at age 17. Is it different for everyone?

The more you mature, which is not the same as getting older, the more it grows... mostly because it becomes less under the control of your hormones.

When you feel attracted to the opposite sex will vary from person to person. Some will always lust after others. For some, when they are really in love with someone, they no longer find others attractive, so don't look. For others still, they don't feel sexual attraction to others at all (not a medical problem, actually asexual). Attraction is a spectrum, the human race is scattered along it, somewhere between asexual and hypersexuality. So attraction itself is not binary - it is not either there or not. This has nothing to do with age. I must say that I wasn't obsessed with sex in my 20's and 30's, that may have applied in my late teens but I was busy getting on with real life by my 20's and 30's. I can say that I have no interest in anyone but my partner, at all. I am 52, he is 54. I can also say that he still makes my spirit soar and now that our offspring have flown the nest we have more opportunities for sex than we did in our early 20's (work got in the way then, now we schedule our own working lives). Sex lasts longer, is more uninhibited and we feel like 'grown up' and much more knowledgable teenagers again. A recent survey in the UK suggests that women feel the most sexually confident in their mid 60's. So, yes, sex enters my head regularly but I am now in the priviliged position of being able to act upon it with the person I really want and, more or less, as often and whenever I want.

For guys at least, you can be sure that it's at 19, if not close to. Men reach their testosterone peak at age 19, which is usually when they will be most attracted to girls in their life (and want the most sex). For women, it is even later. That's why girls become increasingly interested in sex through their 30s. But those are peaks I'm talking about.
Most people Start being attracted to the opposite sex one or two years before they begin puberty. I was 10 when I became attracted to my first girl.

I really think it's different for everyone. I remember the first boy I had a crush on was in kindergarten. My current boyfriend (I'm 19) had a preschool crush too hehe. I really think you know at a young age what you're attracted to but it takes time to make sense of it all and actually "like-like" someone.

It sure is...mine was at a very young age...but I'm talking about like crushes in the third and seventh grades...them are innocent attractions...the ones that arent physical or adulterish... I think that when you get older...you go through stages...anywho, that's my opinion...what is HOCD?...i'ma look that up. Take care.

Crap I was attracted to girls at age 5 I dont think there is an age limit ! Its an individual thing !

The attraction always remains in the opposite sex but mainly it is on the higher side from 16-21 yrs........
in this age period one gets lascivious for the opposite sex....
