You know those two little clear plastic things that are on the center of the glasses to help sit on your nose, dont know what they are called. If you've worn your glasses for a very long time like a few years would you get these dents from those two things on your nose permanently? My glasses are quite heavy and I get those dents after wearing them for a day or so but they go away when i sleep.

My lenses are plastic i think, I've had them tightened a bit cos they used to fall off my face when i look down. The lenses are quite thick too.

I have worn glasses for 20+ yrs. You need to find a lighter pair of glasses. I love my glasses. There are so many cool styles out there now. If possible see if you can wear contacts for part of the day. That's what I did. I wear my glasses part time and my contacts the other part. I also ave to wear bifocals and my eye Dr. found a way for me to wear contacts that are not bifocals. I wear reg contacts to see at a distance and I wear those cheat glasses to see close up and for reading. You can buy them at CVS,Brooks ect.

They're not permanent. I've worn glasses for 37 years, and I don't get them anymore. You're glasses are too heavy and/or they aren't properly adjusted. You should be able to go back to your optometrist/opthalmologist and have them fit them correctly--most don't charge for this. You might also want to switch to plastic lenses. I have 20/400 vision (20/200 is legally blind), so I had really heavy lenses when I was younger, too. There are plastic lenses that can correct about anything glass lenses do, they're less likely to break than glass lenses, and you can get them with a scratch-resistent coating and/or tinting.

They probably can, eventually. Have you tried the new glasses with titanium frames? Feather light, and almost virtually indestructable.

pick up a pair of hi-index lenses and perhaps a titanium frame to help lighten that up, also sounds like your nose pads might be to tight...take them to your local wal-mart they can adjust them for free...

you are still young, I've seen geriatric clients with not only permanent indentations, but with pretty nasty pressure ulcers from those nose peices. If you can afford it, suggest Lasic

It is possible that they are too tight. Can you go back to the eye doctor's office to have them adjusted?
