Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan
Book of Martyrs by John Foxe
Now That's a Good Question by RC Sproul
My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers
Can Man Live Without God? by Ravi Zacharias
What Every Christian Ought to Know by Adrian Rogers
I'm certain that you do not mean that you need something more than the Bible because no one does. If you have trouble with daily devotions.... well.... don't we all. It really takes alot of discipline. Force yourself to commit just five minutes a day for starters then as it becomes habit you will find yourself increasing the time. Here's what I use to do. There are thirtyone chapters in Proverbs, read one a day. There are sixteen chapters in Romans read one a day. Mix in one of the Gospels also. You should be able to read three chapters of the Bible in five minutes or so. Do this for six months. The only way to draw closer to God is through His Word. I love reading books by mighty men of God also, but I have to make sure that they are not replacing the Word. While it's important to know what to read it's important to know what NOT to read. Unfortunately there is alot of junk out there. Here is a list.
Purpose Driven Anything by Rick Warren
And anything by Joel Osteen
Prayer of Jabez, Secrets of the Vine, etc by Bruce Wilkinson
Here is another thing that I do. If you have Itunes go to podcasts and then to the Religion and Spirituality section and do a search for the following: Love Worth Finding, Let My People Think, Insight for Living, Renewing Your Mind, Truth For Life. These are sermon ministries that are free to listen to and download. Find a sermon topic that you are having problems with and listen to what that man of God has to say. Adrian Rogers' Love Worth Finding is my favorite and has helped me so many times that I cannot recall them all. Any questions let me know.

I think you might like Lord Foulgrin's Letters by Randy Alcorn. It's kind of a modern Screwtape Letters (c.s. lewis) and is set near Portland, Oregon. I don't know whether the tribulation will include a rapture but Left Behind was a very good series and alot of it is Biblically based. It had alot of great information about how prophecy has come true and why the Bible and Christianity in general must be true. Hope you try LFLetters though.

Reading your question this morning is a blessing. Thank you. In answer, I have found that Max Lucado's writings are very inspirational. Here are titles of several of his books and they are all wonderful. He has many more besides: And the Angels Were Silent; Traveling Light; He Chose the Nails; Come Thirsty; Next Door Savior; Just Like Jesus; Cure for the Common Life; and, He Still Moves Stones (which is one of my very favorites but was written in 1993 so you may have to get it off eBay.) God Bless.

I always liked reading books about some of our great missionaries or even great preachers of the past. Dwight Moody is a good book, but the best one I recommend is Praying Hyde. This book is about a Missionary who prayed all the time. Hope you enjoy it if you should get it.

Get High Calling by Evelyn Husband. You may have to order it online, because I don't think any store shelves would still have it.
(It is written by the widow of Rick Husband, the commander of the last Space Shuttle Columbia mission. I would speak to adults and young adults alike.)
If you want something more thrilling than that, try Stolen Lives by Brian Reaves. It's about the serious dangers of identity theft.
