Pregnancy to a woman is the flowering for her exsistence .She is born to be a mother . The woman's life is fulfilled when she has become a mother.Pregnancy to a woman is far much difficult than the enlightenment . The pain and patience which she undergoes during the period is not less than a sadhak performing penances to please the god .The real meditation takes place naturally to a pregnant woman as she is totally aware physically and mentally aware of the tiny universe that will manifest from her. She meditates on the child and millions of cells are born to create various parts and the intellect of the child . It happens so naturally .Every thing she meditates she creates it inside the perfect creation a unique one everytime. The expectation is similiar to of the sadhak who is in the verge of enlightenment .Then It happens the child is born the bliss which comes out of the pain is imparallel. It is a glimpse of the enlightenment which only woman can get . She is DHANYA ! Glory to you O MOTHER ! you have created a universe .I think for a woman Enlightenment is much easier than pregnancy and child birth.

When I was pregnant with my son, I was in the presence of a great, great guru. He told me that my child would be my path in this lifetime. I struggled for many years, as I was engaged in 2 very demanding experiences - raising my child as a single mother, and studying meditation, the Vedas, and healing arts.
Sort of impossible, really. I did it though.
I was in a chaotic meditation for 19 years. My experience as mother changed me, softened me, opened my eyes and opened my heart. True grace came upon me through mothering, and I now understand what this great man was telling me.
I have had the privilege of loving and being loved by some of the greatest men, by dear friends and a precious mother who was amazing. I have studied with masters that few are aware of, and been privileged to learn and practice sacred, ancient wisdom. But nothing moved me, humbled me more than learning to be a mom.
This same guru also explained that the loving relationship between mother and child is the closest expression of pure love that exists on this planet, and that men had come to dismiss our place as spiritualists because it is so easy for women to enlighten. It has been a well kept secret for a very long time.

True meditation is a series of enlightenments. Life itself is a series of enlightenments. If you want to really awaken yourself, try deep meditation. I am a 12 year veteran meditator, and I never meditated so deeply as when I listen to theta and delta meditation cds from the http://meditationstore.net they bring you into a much deeper state of meitation than 99.99% of people will ever achieve during their lifetimes. Profound truths flow through your mind and soul like a river of purest light. See you in Nibanna

Yes I agree with you.
Pregnancy is a great and long meditation from the date of conception the woman undergo this meditation for 10 months and enjoy this meditation at different stages. Childbirth is also perfect enlightenment of her life and she gets a a clear, perfect and pure mind (Nirmalayam) in the form of the child. Only our women are fortunate enough to experience this Meditation. Probably for this only they are called "MAA" -

Since pregnancy in this era of world cycle is totally a physical matter it can not be called meditation. Meditation means contact to GOD with your inner self.

Yes, okay but meditation is something between me and God; pregnancy involves a separate human being, miraculously created and loved by God, a gift of love but one that has his or her own destiny

Last night as I was watching the news, the newscaster touched her stomach.
That's when I became aware that she was pregnant. What woman who has carried a child isn't aware of the delicate nuances of your heart when you stroke that life through your skin?
Here was this woman in the middle of her job that was being broadcast across our state and suddenly she was inward focused.
Magnolia, you have put it beautifully.
Edit: ((((((Michellev)))))))
Absolute...
More editing: I woke up, when my first was born. My path completely changed. I'm not letting this one go because when I think about the impact that my children had on me, I'm profoundly moved in how natural and sacred, is the process of birth.
Even more editing:
Oh my, that last statement is very clear and concise. Now, I've been brought back to the birthing itself. Personally, that was the closest point of physical death that I have ever experienced.
I would have gone peaceably too. So tired, hemmoraging, my afterbirth wasn't going to release itself and had to be removed.
They were going to put me under and I remember very clearly looking at my husband and newborn daughter and just cherishing them. I wasn't going to get hysterical about death. I quite designed that last moment to have dignity. So, I looked at the doctor just to clarify. Am I going to wake up from this? He didn't like that question. Of course, your going to wake up!
Frankly, in that moment in time I was suspended. At a crossroads where my life met my death and I wasn't sure what I was going to wake up to.
When I say that my life changed, it truly did. Michelle V, says it so well.
I've been compelled to grow as a spiritually human being for they are so far past me in greatness, that to stay still would be a different type of death. To embrace motherhood, is to accept enlightnment constantly unfolding (for CD).

That's pretty deep! But really how many children have you given birth to? I have 6 times and it never felt like what you just described. Peace be with you.
