Nice poem and I agree with it generally. However, I feel the main issue with problems in school is the deterioration of the family and it as a mechanism of teaching values, good principles and morality to our youth. For whatever reason (and I have my opinions) morality and good values are not being taught in the home. When we as a society can return to our countries roots and have those values and morality taught at home, then I think we will be able to solve these problems.

If it was God in the schools then why does not Britan, France, Norway, Sweeden or Japan have this problem?
America, the most religious country, has the biggest problem with this. The Viginia Tech gunman, Seung-Hui Cho, was a Christian.
Do not look to the schools. Look to the values the Christian parents are failing to teach their Christian kids.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seung-Hui_Cho#Behavior_in_middle_school_and_high_school
I in no way condone or justify Seung-Hui Cho's actions, but I do not think he was alienated just by the 10% of kids who are ateists, but mainly by the 80% that come from 'good Christian' homes.

Disagree. How can such a serious and horrendous event be rolled into a cutesy little poem. It makes light of the deaths of all students murdered in such a manner. Life isn't all about hair-bows, bubblegum and lipstick. Taking this so lightly you might as well do a stand-up comic routine on it. Let's get serious.

DISAGREE with such Law Law.
It's previous prayer causing deaths today.
Law is a ministration of death. Hell-o!!!!!!!
The Lord's prayer is LEAVENED with law:
Forgive us as we forgive? Kill us if we don't?
Check out the PS to see it's a mission impossible.
If you don't forgive all, all the time, you're DOOMED.
It's a SNARE, a CATCH ALL, for all the DUMMIES.
What must we do to stop the crime?
DAH, only law defines anything as crime(sin).
Law is both source and strength of crime(sin).
Where no law, there no transgression(sin, crime).
FLUSH the law and all crime goes bye bye with it.
ADD more law and you'll have mega crime in schools.
Geeze, it's 2007 AD--->only goes one way, to the end:
The GRACE(ONLY) of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

A sweet idea, but unfortunately things just aren't so simple as that. Getting rid of poverty, discrimination, drugs, pop culture that promotes instant gratification and conspicuous consumption, promiscuity, parents who've fried their brain or committed crime, etc., etc., those are the problems that need to be addressed by the entire community by every social, ethnic, religious, political entity, every human and material resource. Children and youth need more than school prayer to solve these problems. They need committed action and resources.
There is no return to the so-called good ole days. There's deal with reality or continue to pay the price.

I think children ought to be allowed to pray and to speak of Jesus. As far as I know (and I have taught school for 26 years), it is still okay to mention the name of Jesus.
I live in southeast GA, so things may be different up north or in the western US.
Students can initiate prayer. It is not illegal to say the name "Jesus."
I agree with the poem in that there are bad things happening in schools.
However, it is unfair to focus on one religion, when children from several different religions attend the school.
I am a Christian, but I believe in being fair to everyone.

Great poem...however the responsibility of teaching a child to pray is not the educational system. That would be with the parents.
A moment of quiet for those who wish to pray...i am ok with that , but "teaching" children how to pray in school...sorry, i can not support that.

Even as a Christian, I never understood how bringing prayer into schools would "stop crime."
It'll be popular to send around the internet, but illogical. Then again, most popular things are.
Send it on and see how long it takes until you get sick of getting it forwarded.

my fundie friend had that poem on her fridge years ago. i think it's disgusting to imply that since the school doesn't have religion that society has crumbled. if parents would do their job and teach their kids right from wrong, then things would be much better. if kids need religion to be good, then why aren't the parents teaching it at home and at sunday school???? i don't think kids need christianity/fear of hell to teach them how to behave. my kids behave much better than most christian's kids i know, and we're witches! in fact, my fundie friend's oldest has been arrested numerous times and her daughter is in a group home and my kids are the same age and have never been in trouble!!!!!
however, if the school wants to implement a "quiet time" that children can use to pray if they choose to, then that's ok
