if lcd DONT use household chemicails as there are silcon based and " eat " though the screen, because of these if you use a normal cloth a:- it might have chemial residual b:- just moves the dust across the screen and scrats it.

Have MONSTER clean sreen wash, 2 bottles and a special cloth will last me about 3-4 years. ALSO it will do my glasses, tft screen and cost £14.99.

Hope this helps, have a smudge free viewing

Use computer wipes, don't rub too hard as LCD screens are very sensitive and can develop pressure marks that will ruin it, in fact the less you touch it the better, easier said than done with kids around. I've an LCD screen on my laptop and computer wipes are great and you can pick them up really cheaply from shops like Wilkinson's, Asda etc. I've had four kids and everything was always full of fingermarks, got two grand-kids doing it instead now, always cleaning them off something or other!

Don't use the wipes in little packets if they contain alcohol in them (you can easily tell by the smell).

Keep your LCD monitor clean with these steps:

Turn off the computer and display
Use water only to dampen a lint-free cloth. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen
Wipe the screen

You may also use a mild glass cleaner that contains no alcohol or ammonia, available at most office supply stores. Apple has tested a product called Klear Screen and found it does not cause harm to plastics.

Foam cleanser - or get wipes from the stationers for LCD screens.
