We got a 9 week old kitten yesterday, named Cody, and I bought him some dry Kitten Chow. He has yet to eat or drink anything and he hasn't used the litter box. Do you think I should switch to the wet food?

He is probably still shy and scared, if he was OK before you took him. Try some boiled chicken (cats can't resist that, I think) or some wet food, to see if he changes his mind. Also give him some privacy, close him in a room where he can hide somewhere, and leave the litterbox and food in there.

Also A cat/kitten likes thier litter box located as far away from thier food source as possible..keep this in mind..also if you plan on letting the cat outside some too..the first time you do after you give it at least a week inside first, to learn it's "comfort zone"..if u will put margarine on it's front paws when you set it out to watch it first time, it will go a few steps and lick it's paws clean, as cats are preeners by nature..thus giving it more time to set there and take in it's surroundings and local as it preens....Them he is lest apt to get lost on his first venture out.

Try to give him whatever he was eating at the shelter. Cats have personalities and your kitten may just be really shy or depressed. Just give him some time and he will adjust.
