You do not get "more drunk", but people tend to get drunk more quickly. This has NOTHING to do with the oxygen levels. It is very simply because you drink FASTER through a straw. Therefore, you drink MORE in less time.
To answer my own question about the straw theory, I tried it myself: I usually drink about 2 beers in an hour. When drinking through a straw [SEEMINGLY at the same pace] I drank FOUR beers (and didn't even realize it). Therefore, I got TWICE as drunk in HALF the time. Make sense??

Now that sounds like a prank way to get you drunk. Alcohol enters the blood system one way. The body can only process so much at a time which is about 1 bottle of beer or 1 oz of liquor per hour. The key is to drink faster than that and you will overload your bod and feel high. The faster and longer you over load the more alcohol reminds in your system. Be careful - to much of an overload an you pass out or just throw it up.

The lack of oxygen when you sip through the straw, combined with the rate of consumption when drinking through a straw, combines to help the alcohol enter your system quicker.
Actually you're just drinking faster when you drink out of a straw. That's why you get drunk faster. Conduct an experiment....time yourself to see how long it takes to drink a drink out of a glass then time yourself to see how long it takes to drink it with a straw.
