A true HKMP5 in a 9mm is going to run you some coin.
Your FFL dealer can likely order one, plan on spending about $1500-2400 on it. You need to be 18, for Class III NFA licensing I believe the regs require 21 years .. It's a 9mm Ammo can be got for around $8.00 per/50 rounds.
I concur with the dreaming post. When I was a kid a neighbor had a Class III FFL license. He was an H&K collector. God it was fun to go out to the range with him. Never a dull moment.

Unfortunately, you cannot own a real MP5 unless you are a licensed class 3 dealer or work for a law enforcement agency and then you could get it on a demo letter. Due to import laws and BATFE laws only post dealer samples are available. However, you can own a full auto clone, made by bobcat weapons, vector arms, ect. They will function and look the same as an MP5. You will need to be 21 and will have to file some paperwork with the BATFE and submit to a background check, finger printing, and get a police officer to sign off on your form. These guns fire 9mm ammo and it is pretty cheap. Its a fun gun to shoot. Good luck.

Thompson smg had a slower rate off fire but compensated for this when the 50round drum was used,it was also a lot heavier, the HK mp5 is a lighter weapon, faster rate of fire and more accurate, the mp5 is a compact weapon as opposed to the bulk of the Thompson, the best improvement made to the Thompson was the cutts compensator on the end of the barrel, all in all the mp5 has to be the better weapon

9 mm ammo is fairly inexpensive. You can buy an HK from a Class 3 dealer. Get a couple second jobs and sell your car and you might be able to make the down payment.

Aww you guys leave the koolaid kid alone. Didnt you dream of owning a machine gun when you were a kid? Let him dream a little bit, what the hell is it gonna hurt. If any of you have fired one, tell him about it! Dont forget to mention how much it freakin hurts when the hot ejected shell falls down in your shirt and burns the s**t out of you. Or when you actually find a range that will let you fire it you get wild and accidentally shoot everything including the walls and the benchrest....man thats all he wants to hear. You aint gotta belittle him. At least he is asking questions and not out on the street trying to buy one from RAY RAY.

The first question was understandable.
The second question is beginning to show your ignorance.
The third question verifies your ignorance.
The fourth question is just plain stupid.
And the last question verifies all ofthe above.
You sound too young, ignorant, and uniformed to own anything like an MP5, let alone an Air-Soft gun.

Are you really as stupid as your posting would suggest?
Although I doubt you are smart enough, or old enough to understand this... owning a SUBMACHINE GUN... is ILLEGAL without a whole lot of paperwork... and you are neither.
