You should name him Rusty. If he's whining when he sleeps, he might be dreaming. Nothing is wrong with him. Puppys cry a lot in the begining.

He may be dreaming about abuse...but more than likely, he whines from being a puppy! They do that! They whine when born, then keep at it for a while.

thats normal that it whines while sleeping....its probably still wanting its siblings all curled up with him , also could be slight growing pains
