He stinks, bless his heart. Only I love him at the moment :o)) He is perfectly happy, though...how long do I have to wait before I can chuck him in the tub?
(we lost the instructions)
Thanks

According to the instructions on my Frontline combo (Fipronil (s) methoprene) which although are for cats concludes the following;
"No data is available on the effect of shampooing or bathing on the efficacy of the product in cats. However, based on information available for dogs shampooed as from 2 days after the application. It is recommended not to bath animals within 2 days of applying the topical solution to your pet".

Whilst researching your question I noticed this interesting little fact that I had not previously realised, (well, obviously I knew not to flush it down the loo and to dispose of carefully but not of its effect on aquatic life), which is in a way relevant and may also be worth bearing in mind which is that the solution can have an adverse effect on aqautic organisms and should therefore not be allowed to pollute ponds, waterways, ditches or even in the disposal of the empty pipettes which should also be thrown into a bin along with any unused solution.

The suggestion of an obedience class is an excellent one. Read here https://tr.im/OlhCJ
It will help your dog learn to behave around other dogs, and help keep your training moving forward as you'll want to be prepared for the next class. Also, a good instructor can be a wonderful resource, someone to help you with any questions or concerns about your dog. Leash training can take a LOT of time and patience, depending upon the dog. I'm not sure what you mean by 'horrible on a leash' but my basic suggestion is that you take a lot of yummy treats with you on walks. When your dog behaves well on the leash (not pulling) praise her and give her treats. Change direction a lot so that she learns to pay attention to YOU and where you are going. It's also helpful to teach a "Watch Me" command such that whenever your dog looks at you you praise her and give her a treat. About chewing, yes a Kong is a great chew toy. Some dogs also like Nylabone brand bones. I suggest also teaching a "Leave It" command. You use this when she shows interest in chewing on something she shouldn't. Then immediately give her something she is allowed to chew, such as the Kong stuffed with somethig yummy. This same command will be helpful on walks when she wants to sniff or eat something she shouldn't. Again, when she does leave the item alone, be sure to give lots of praise. I would look into an obedience class right away. I think that you'll find that a good obedience class can help enormously! Good luck and enjoy your new dog.

Bathing or water immersion of dogs 48 hours after application will not stop FRONTLINE® Spot On working effectively. Apply at 6 weekly intervals if the pet is shampooed weekly with a chlorhexidine-based shampoo and 5 weekly if emolient shampoos are used.

I'd say probably 1/2 an hour. What I do is I give my dog a bath before applying Frontline so it lasts longer and you don't have to worry about bathing after. I looked at the Frontline box that I have and it says it lasts even after baths and swimming!!!

Have fun, Happy 4th of July!!!

"Bathing or shampooing the dog up to one hour prior to treatment does not affect efficiency of product Bathing/immersion in water within 2 days after application of the product and more frequent bathing than once a week should be avoided." So give it a couple of days at least as you will only wash off the treatment.

48 hours before he can get wet. Our vet told us that if you dog is a swimmer, make sure and apply Frontline at 3wks instead of 4weeks. apparently the water washes the product from the glands.
