Dispite a blood test showing this was normal, i have really bad inflamation and pain back and in my sides each night when lying down. Why does this only flare up at night? HLAB27 result positive so awaiting some sort of diagonsis soon with a ruemotologist. I have in the meantime been prescribed celebrex 100mg - twice a day. I am considering taking three just before bedtime to get me through the night as it isn't working. Would this be recommended? thanks in advance for any shared experiences

This would most likely NOT be recommended (Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor!). You may need another type of medication or additional medication. I went through 5 years of complaining of joint pain, especially in my hips at night. Even though blood tests did not show significant elevations (enough to clearly diagnose RA or other autoimmune diseases) the nurse practitioner finally listened to my complaints and started me on plaquenil, sulsfasalazine & voltaren. It took about 4-5 months to help, but now my pain is so minimal, I can manage it and I haven't had any flare ups except for one minor one in a year. Talk to your doctor about other or additional medication. By the way, I used to be on celebrex and it helped somewhat, but my insurance didn't cover it. So my nurse pract. changed it to voltaren, which was covered, and seemed to help a little more. But if I stopped taking it, even for one day, I noticed it. It's hard to get a definite diagnosis; for so many autoimmune diseases they have to rely on symptoms and lab work, but the lab work is not definitive. Best wishes to you.

why are you taking celebrex ? I thought they took that off the market due to the fact that it leads to cancer .
