Joseph Jerome "Joe" Cannon played for Houston for 4 years, 1977-1980. That's all I got. Only a .176 batting average could account for that. If he's related... I mean no disrespect.

Only one -- Joe Cannon, who played for the Houston Astros 1977-78 and the Toronto Blue Jays 1979-80. Mostly left and right field. Not much of a hitter.

Bunch of guys with the nickname "Cannonball" or some variation thereof, plus Jimmy Wynn, known as "The Toy Cannon" for his power-packed yet diminutive (5'9") frame. He played 15 seasons, mostly with Houston, and once hit a homer off HOFer Phil Niekro into the upper deck of the Astrodome (the seat was marked with a cannon cartoon; I once stood nearby in the rampway (before security gently chased us out -- that part was officially closed that day) and, wow, that was quite a distance down to home plate).

You're too quick for me, Georgie. Hahaha.
There was also the "Toy Cannon" but that was a nickname.
