The rule of thumb is 14 days after the first day of your period.

It has always been this way.

it is usually around the 14-th day after your period, this purely based on the fact that the menstrual cycle is 28 days. if yours is indeed 31 days, then your ovulation should be around the 15th day. just to make sure, buy an ovulation test at the pharmacy. it will tell you exactly when you are ovulating.

Usually you ovulate on the 14th day, as the 1st day of your cycle is the 1st day of your period. If your cycle is 31 days, you probably ovulate on the 15th or 16th day. Some women can feel it when they ovulate. I tend to have cramping on one side of my lower abdomen. I've heard your body temperature changes slightly as well.

You can get pregnant within 3 days before and 3 days after the day you ovulate. :)

My wife told me it is the 14 days from the start of your period. That is what her Dr. said.
