I assume your referring to his latest well thought out policy,of not making any more grammar schools. The colonels, majors, jolly old haywots, blue rinse W.I. members in the shires of well heeled England, not Britain, as these types only occur in the English shires, are flat out furious. They will no longer be able to fiddle or pay their way for their offsprings to go to these schools.
When I was at school I always thought it funny that all the local councillors kids and the kids of the rich went to these schools, not being particularly bright in class. It dosen't take a brain surgeon to work it out.
By the way do you mean Cameron, Hamilton was the shady one who lost to the man in white.

I do not know what the problem is here. I am a product of the old Secondary Modern School and did not have an opportunity to take O levels or A levels until after I had left school and went to night school.
When I look up my contemporaries I find that many of them joined one of the professions, became company directors one of quite a large multi-million pound effort.

I feel that this was as a result of streaming rather than multi-level classes. All of us in the A stream were aware that we were as good if not better than our lower to mid part of the grammar school scales. Indeed when I started work I was surprised to find how often I out performed an ex-grammar school pupil. I feel that the main problem is that in multi-ability classes the top ones become bored and disruptive and at the lower end they can not cope. I reluctantly am of the opinion that he real problem is that streaming is needed in comprehensives. The other thing to help is the unpopular idea of backing teaching staff in their attempts to control their classes. By this I mean proper backing not time wasting inquirers and investigations. The lesson is that life is unjust and we have to learn to cope with it. Universal education is a privilege granted only by law and those attempting to give it have a duty to do their best and those receiving it have an at least equal receiving it have a duty to apply themselves. .

Nothing to worry over, there, my friend! The Tories have as much chance of getting into power, as I have of being the next Pope!
