&about their 20 neeces & nephews (& here is where they recite the whole family tree, making it too confusing to follow who is who's son or daughter or mother or whatever they are) who are scattered around the Globe & never bother to call, but it's understandable cause they can't afford long-distance calls, life being so expensive and all...
& how young ppl today don't appreciate what they have (cause they have so much more today than in granny's days) & how they would sleep on the floor & eat bread & jam or boiled potatoes or simply starve cause it was the war...& how young ppl knew how to dance in those days, whereas today they just shake their bodies like they're possesed or smth...
& how they almost wouldn't let u get off the bus, cause u were such a good "conversation buddy"

You must try to remember that old folk mostly live alone and don`t have anyone to talk to. Next time listen to them even if they are boring the pants off you, It will make their day.

yup. . . when i was little, me and my parents would catch a jeepney and elder people liked to talk to people beside them or even across them. . they just talk about the old times, telling stories about their days . . . i'm lucky to have 2 of my grandparents still. their stories make me imagine what it was like in their days.
