These are really good tips I have heard to stop smoking. Hope they help.

Because a smoker forms the habit of putting something in their mouth, and it's like always a cigarette. you will need something else to put into your mouth, like lollipops.

Have a peppermint each time you crave a cigarette, the craving will go away somehow.

Be sure to have lots of water, the nicotine will wash out within 48 - 72 hours. Let's say, the same amount as some scientist discovered. 6 - 8 glasses a day.

Make sure you get a lot of fresh air and exercise, it will help your brain recover

Have faith. Thinking you can't do it over and over won't help.

Read Allen Carr's easy way to stop smoking, read the whole book and you will stop smoking, I quit smoking at page 38 or there abouts, but you must finish it, good luck.

Oh by the way, you will save a bloody fortune, so don't worry about the cost of the book, and remember to keep the book, never lend it to anyone else, if you should get the urge for a smoke just read a page from the book to remind yourself how stupid you were to let that poison get the better of you.

I put every cent I would have spent on cigarettes in a jar when I quit. Everytime I wanted a cigarette I would put more money into the jar (enough to cover the cost of one pack). At the end of the time limit I set for myself (6 months) I took the jar and spent the money on something nice for myself :)

Ive been smoke free ever since havnt even thought about smoking. What helped with some of the wanting to smoke was brushing my teeth. If the craving was really bad I would brush my teeth for about 5 minutes and that with putting the money in the jar really helped me

Quit cold turkey. Don't put off for August. Set a specific target date. Go with a non-smoking girlfriend. You become more desirable to the girls. Remember, it's an expensive and annoying habit as well as smells your hair; your breath and clothes and your car and house. This habit can own you. It's bad for your asthma and your allergies. It's a party pooper. You become a minority. You lungs and general health will improve as well as your sense of smell and taste.
By not smoking, think how you contribute to the clean ecology of this earth and your general surroundings and environment.
