I missed my college graduation 2 years ago. I want to get a photo taken in my cap and gown and go to the photographer for the sake of it to be proud. I have tried to ring the university they rent them out only of you are graduating. I would like to either buy one second hand or borrow one. Any ideas?

A few ideas: You could ask the university who they used as a photographer for the actual graduation pictures, and ask them if they have a cap and gown they can put you in for purposes of the pictures. That way you don't have to buy one at all. If that doesn't work, I would try something like eBay or Craig's List for a used one, if you don't know someone from whom you could borrow one (a lot of them are rented, so people may not have them to lend to you). I have a colleague who got his at a garage sale, but it is a doctoral gown, not an undergrad one, and finding one would be a matter of chance, not something you can plan.
