Hi, would anyone be able to tell me an approximate fare from Athens International Airport into the centre of Athens as a rough guide?

not sure if this is possible for you but Athens has a really good underground metro system that will bring you right from the train station into the city centre.
It costs 6 euro which is pretty expensive but it is a really good service.
The metro system is quite extensive and if you find the nearest station to where you want to go it is a pretty hassle free experience.

it really depends on traffic. usually between 25-30 and can charge excess bags if you travel w lots of suitcases. ive taken from airport to north athens city and has cost anywhere from 25 to 40 euros depending on time of day. night is usually cheaper cuz roads are empty. of course you can look up and book ahead. but there is a taxi line at airport that usually doesnt take too long, even if it looks a mile long when you get there. the following sites looked interesting as im sure they can answer your questions and would be useful if planning day trips(there you can get really ripped off)

About 25 euro. Be careful, taxi drivers like to cheat tourists and ask for more money. If they ask for much more than say 30 euro, call the police to check. However, after midnight the price is higher.
I agree that train and bus is a better solution, unless you have too heavy luggage to handle around.

i took a bus. it was cheap and easy. it went to athens centre right next to all of the sights. ie the acropolis. and the bus back was equally easy. i would highly recommend the bus for ease and friendliness of the passengers

Around 30 euro...but there are alternatives in the bus/train services which are really cheap and possibly quicker. Check it out when you land.
