The answer is (c)8.

Let the distance be x km.
Time taken by the first person : x/5 hrs. = (x*60)/5 minutes
Time taken by the second person : x/6 hrs. = (x*60)/6 minutes

If the difference between the times is 16 minutes,
(x*60)/6 + 16 = (x*60)/5
10x + 16 = 12x
2x = 16
x = 8

So, the distance traveled is 8km.
