This is a little difficult. Times have changed yes, but I don't think I was truly happier then. I have a good life now (I just need to learn to accept it). I have a gorgeous daughter and life experiences that I would not change for anything. I have a home that I can call my own (belongs to me, not to the bank). I have a car and the freedom to go where I need to (depending on how full the fuel tank is). Life is what you make of it and I am going to try and make the best of it.

Really an impossible question to answer. At 3 years old I knew nothing about the future. Had no concept of it. Until 10 years old, there was no real concern about the future. Maybe a concept of it, but not an important one. Nor any solid concept of my own mortality.

In my younger teens, the world opened up quite a bit. Was I happy? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. But I think the concept of my whole life ahead of me was rather undefined. As I think it is with all people of that age.

I have been poor most of my life. Financially anyway.

It has only been in the last 15 years or so that money has not been a problem.

But back to your question.

I am happier now. True, there is a defined concept of my mortality, there have been serious hits, and more to come, but the ability to be in control of most aspects of my life is satisfying. I equate that to happiness.

In summation,I would rather be my age now than younger.

yes, I was happier when I was younger and poorer. I didn't really have that many responsibilities so money wasn't an issue. Now that I'm older a lot of problems have seemed to pop up and I have to learn how to make wiser decisions for more complicated issues.

you know what? that is such a valid point!
Yes, i was much happier when i was younger.
The world to me was like an ocean of things waiting to happen, it was exciting and everything was gorgeous and being younger you have that innocence about life ..

then you finish school, get a job and realise that the real world is full of crap and you turn out just like every old person who is bitter!
