For the last post..."they" is just one man. To answer the question if I leave my e-mail opend, the answer is no...never! Also I do not have a common pass word. Yes, I do know what hacks are. Now I know this may be a stupid question, because I am not sure anyone will answer it, but where can I find this hack?

Are you sure he doesn't have your password? Well if he doesn't he probably knows hows to hack in to your account. Heard of hacking?

There are many ways, he could be using a keylogger which keeps track of everything you type (including passwords). Or he could probably just be accessing them off of the server if he is an administrator where the emails are stored. For instance supposed you worked at the new york times well there are some IT folks there who have access to everyones emails, but ethically they are not supposed to view them, they have access in case there is a problem with the email system and they need to make system changes.

Greetings,

If that person had access to the terminal -computer -you use and if a key-logger software was installed then anything typed as text is venerable.

Another thing, the person might have your password even if you “think” that he/she might not, change your password with a 7 digits plus of letters and numbers and change your secret question as well, while you are at it check your potions to see if it was modified to sent a supplementary copy for everything sent or received to a cretin email address..
Good luck

There is no ABSOLUTE privacy. If someone is knowledgible about computers, they can hack into your account. It's illegal and immoral...but it happens. Change your passwords frequently, which will make it more difficult, tho not impossible. Make it a word or phrase that is really uncommon...preferably in a foreign language (harder for them to guess or figure out)

You don't mention what kind of email you have (e.g., web-based, POP). I wouldn't assume that your friend doesn't have a password. He could have installed a keylogger (a program that records every key you press) on your computer and obtained it that way. Quite frankly, it's not too hard to guess most people's passwords; all you have to know are the names of the person's spouse, children, pets, favourite TV shows, and you're well along the way to guessing his or her password. If you chose a poor password, he might have guessed it.

Most companies IT departments have the ability to monitor and read emails without knowing your password.

A good way to prevent that from happening is to use a online email like GMail which uses SSL encryption.

Does he have the keystroke software installed on your computer? Then he would know everything you've written.

Change your password daily if you must. Or get a new email account on Yahoo or Hotmail and don't let him know what it is.

The only way to do this is via a hack. You could secretly start another ID and tell everybody but your hacker friend about it.
