My husband and I have been trying to conceive, and my period is well over a week late -almost two weeks now- so there is a good possibility of me being pregnant. I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet so I don't know for sure if I am or not.

[ The only reason I'm waiting so long to take a test is because the last 3 times I took pregnancy tests when I was a week late--all were positive, even the clinic tests, but then turned out to be false positives. One resulted in a miscarriage. I don't have high hopes this time, so I'm waiting until the 2-2 1/2 week mark of missing a period. ]

Back in May, I received the first of 3 Gardasil HPV vaccine shots, and I'm due for my second this upcoming Friday. If pregnant, will it be okay for me to go ahead with the second shot?

If you are pregnant, I would say no. Everthing that goes into you goes into the embryo, side effects would be amplified in such a small host.

But ask your doctor, i'm just going by logic/instinct.

if you had miscarriages, tall the positive test results that you had were not false positives- there is no test that can predict if you will actually have the baby-all that they register is the presence of the pregnancy hormone above a certain level. so i would suggest just take another test, tell the doctor the result, they will most certainly make blood tests too. i would personally not take the vaccine shot if pregnant, but ur doc should give you better advice.

Ask the physician before getting the shot. They are the one's with the information you seek. Do tell them that you might be pregnant, and maybe ask for a blood test to confirm.
