I think they just won in the first place by promising alot of things. And they accomplished very little of it despite earlier promises. The only thing they seemed to be good at are handling the scandals and investigations and making sure someone takes responsibility for it. Everything else is still just as horrid as from before they came to congress...

Every time the congress tries to do anything, Bush says "no! nya-nya-nya, you can't make me!" and sticks his tongue out at them. And the congress, being the weak spineless democrats that they are, sit back and say "but that's not fair! mom, he's not playing fair!" What we have is a classic schoolyard battle between a big dumb bully and a bunch of little dweebs. In the end, the big loser is the American public.
I say, in the next election, everybody votes to leave the white house, congress, and senate completely empty. That's right, vote for nobody. They're all on vacation so much, it won't really be any different anyhow. We don't need a president, a congress, or a senate to get anything done. It's painfully obvious that none of them, from either party, can get ANYTHING done. Might as well save the tax dollars and just let the country run itself.

It has taken six and a half years to get us to the sorry state we are in now, and it is unreasonable to expect everything to be fixed in 110 days. Although I was disappointed in the Iraq funding bill outcome, it is important to remember what Congress has done in 110 days. There is now more accountability for the egregious lawbreaking that was indulged in the previous six and a half years and the minimum wage has been updated. The legislative branch works slowly, try and be a bit more patient. I think most people understand the narrow margin of the congress. There are not enough votes to overturn vetoes if all the legislators vote according to party lines. Unfortunately, we are so polarized on some issues I believe things are going to be on cruise until the next election.

Yeah, I saw the poll that says Congress is worse than our Pres., but it also says that they don't want to switch back to a Republican Congress either. I would like to Change in all three branches. I saw some decision and was annoyed at the Supreme court. We need to get rid of Bush and put in A real Republican in as President. Get rid of the ultra libs in congress and the ultra conservative in the court.s I was tinking today I really miss rehnquist and O conner.

You have to give them a break. GWB has been messing things up for five years. They don't have the power because congress is so closely split it can not over ride a Presidential veto. But smart Republicans especially those coming in 2008 are deserting Bush like a burning ship. Believe me they will sweep the white house and most likely congress. It all depends on what we do from here to then. The best thing we Republicans can do is call for the impeachment of GWB. We can save seats in congress but unless we have a candidate with a plan to get us out of Iraq we are in trouble. Don't get me wrong I believe we have a real threat fighting terrorism but we need troops to guard our borders instead of wasting them in another country's civil war. We also need more troops in Afghanistan where the real war is being pursued. Anyone calling for more of the same is politically dead.
So instead of spending our time calling the democrats let us work together to keep our people in office. I have not seen that poll that says anyone is lower than Bush. Let me know where to find it.
