I think it's that the minimum resolution it needs to support is 800X600. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine, that's a pretty low resolution.

Previous answers pretty much cover what 800x600 mean. However realize that that is a minimum requirement. For vista to run decently you are gonna need more horsepower than a 10 year old video card. Look more to the recommended requirements. That will give you a better idea of what you need.

Be aware that there is a small program from Microsoft that will scan your hardware to see if it's compatible. Of course, I think it's a bit biased but it will give you a good idea.

If your computer is more than about a year, maybe two if your lucky, years old then you are not going to be able to run Vista to it's full visual glory.

Realize that Vista is a brand new operating system. My rule of thumb is to not get it until it's first service pack comes out.

You can check the link below to find out what screen resolutions are available to you if you are currently running XP. Like someone else said I would be more concerned with your RAM (memory). But as a bonus if you are forced to upgrade some of your computer parts you can always buy the parts from a retailer that also sells system builder versions of Vista. The system builders version of Vista Home Premium is under $120 I think, the savings over retail will pay for some of the upgrades you may need.

That is the resolution of the video card. 800 pixels by 600 pixels. Any video card made in the last decade can run in at least 800x600. I would be more concerned with RAM and CPU requirements.
