Ok. So I was born in California to Mexican parents.I grew up in Sunnyvale, in an area with not much of a Hispanic population and mostly caucasians. I am also a bit whiter skinned than most Mexicans. Kids at school always tease me and say that I'm a wannabe Mexican and that I'm really Italian or European and because I don't dress a certain way they think that I'm ashamed of being Mexican. The truth is, I don't mind being Mexican, no one gets to choose what they're born being. Whats the best way to stop all of this bullying.I have already tried talking to them and ignoring them but its not working! It still gets to me! How can I stop this??

There is nothing wrong with being mexican! Be proud of who you are. People that make those comments are just IGNORANT and no, ignorance is not bliss. People are gonna talk about you regardless, thats a part of life. Their most likely just jealous. So just Shake Those Hataz Off!

Well first of all young lady if you are full blooded mexican and are only of mexican descent you are...get this Mexican. You are not Hispanic. Hispanics are of Spanish descent. Latinos are of Latin American descent. Your community is of Mexican descent, remember that.

Now as for the whole bullying, what is a true Mexican? Thats stupid! It's like someone from this country not liking someone because there not full blooded American.

The reason they pick on you is because there jealous of your beautiful tan and of the opportunities that lie in your future. What people refer to these "bullys" today are "haters." Successful people, will always have haters. Learn to deal with it if you want to be successful.

And you are not Mexican. Your are a Mexican-American. A Chicana so be proud and dont let people get you down. Keep your head up!

You sound kind of like me growing up. The Mexican kids in school (at least the girls) never cared for me much and I found out they even used to call me "stuck up white b*tch". Luckily for me, I never cared!

You don't have to "act Mexican", just be yourself and be nice to everyone. Eventually, people will see that you're not the enemy. By high school, most of the Mexican girls were friends and told me they had always thought I was snobby. It wasn't because of anything I had done- it was their problem. Don't try too hard to win people over, just be polite and go on with your life. Don't even talk about the "issue" with anyone...ignore the issue because it's not one. You don't have to ignore the people.

Laugh at their stupidity darlin. LAUGH LOUD - let them know how ridiculous and funny you think their stupidity is, even if they don't yet realize how stupid they are being. And just leave it be - don't elaborate on your thoughts and feelings unless you are talking to someone that really cares to hear them. Just laugh, don't let them know it bothers you.....I'm not going to lie, you are never going to stop everyone you are referring to from doing what you're saying.....kids (I'm assuming you are talking about kids/teens) will be kids....and if they weren't teasing you for this, they'd be teasing you for something else. Them types aren't going to change. But YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE how many people are going to look back in five years and realize what you were LAUGHING LOUD about, and not only will they feel silly and childish for being rude....they will also learn something from your reaction. It is always better to laugh and let others see their error than to lash out and let them know they are getting a rise out of you. Good luck, hope I've helped a wee bit.

Well if it were me I would probably bring a freshly made batch of chocolate cookies to school with me and I would eat them very very slowly in front of them as a cruel and unusual form of torture.

Just don't pay attention to them.... It is as simple as that... Race and creed Is not important... But how you feel about yourself is... And you have to be as stupid as they are if you take the time to listen to that crap that they are telling you................................ Remember this race only matters to those that don't have a life, or to those that spend all of their lives worrying about what other people think about them and to those of low self-esteam... Who has the time for that.......
