Leane, you have a 20 korun coin from the Czech Republic. The coin type has been in circulation since 1993 and is made of steel clad with an alloy of 75% copper and 25% zinc and electroplated with an alloy of 72% copper and 28% zinc(or in short it's brass plated on steel). In circulated conditions it worth face in that country, but trades around US$0.25 to $0.50 among hobbyists. In mint condition the coin has a catalog value of US$2.50, reference number KM#5.

At http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coins_of_the_Czech_koruna ,
there is a picture of this coin about 1/2 way down the page. The wording is either ESK REPUBLIK or CESKA REPUBLIK, which stands for CZECH (pronounced like check) REPUBLIC. The lion is the national symbol for them, and the rider is their patron saint, ST. WENCESLAS (pronounced like wen-CESS-loss). The coin was minted in 1993 and first issued on May 12, 1993. It is brass-plated steel.
