the niece was 5 when it all started and stopped when she was 12
AND to top it off.. the woman knew all along and never said anything to help her niece!

Once you have been abused you will never know how some else felt
Maybe she has become addictive to the abusive relationship maybe she thinks that she wont find some one else

They have to really look inside themselves to see why they are staying with him. How old was the niece?. The maturbation for money over the internet shows some serious issues also. Sounds like they deserve eachother.
