I did. This past January I was driving past a van that was broken down in -20 temperature. Cars were beeping for the woman to get out of the turning lane. She was crying. I gave her a jump and made sure she made it home safely, which was very near my work.
Just wondering.

I have never helped anyone on the highway, but as a tourguide, I help strangers all the time,by giving directions and recommendations to people visiting my city. I also helped a couple who were evacuees from New Orleans that I met in a grocery store parking lot in Dec. 2005. I let them stay at my house for a night or two and bought them a fast food meal. They had no where to go and no money for a hotel. I'm happy to report that there was a good ending to that encounter.

Yes, I got lost and while trying to turn back into the road a guy cut me off so in avoiding hitting him I was forced into another street where I saw a young girl and a young guy pushing a huge black car under rain that could have added up to a hurricane! I got out and helped them push the car to safety and then took the girl to the gas station where they made me leave my credit card so they would lend me a gas can. We got the gas and I took her back to the car, made sure they could at least get the car running. The funny thing is that I'm usually not a giving person but that day I felt like it was destined for me to find these poor kids on the road.

ya, i have.. but it also depends on the person's appearance. some ppl you know you're asking for trouble buy the way they look, not all, but some. i mean would you give a person a ride if they're dressed in a trench coat, hat covering their face and car has black tinted windows or would you give a lady a ride that has broken down with 3 kids??
you kinda have to back your own jugement on different situtions.
i did give this like 84 yr old man a lift once. i took him home and we sat in my truck at his house for awhile. he was talking about he had lost his wife and about his house on when it was built. i really enjoyed giving that man a lift that day.
i'd probley have to say i would help any small child or an elderly person out, but others i would have to think about it first. it also depends on whether or not if i have my child with me also as his safety always comes first.

I try to help people who need it.

My friends husband got out of the marines a few months ago, but the military (as usual) screwed him over and made him stay in a week longer. They had already moved out of their apartment when they found out, and were on their way back home to Indiana from California. He had no place to stay and they didn't have enough money for 8 days in a hotel. I talked my husband into letting him stay in our guest bedroom for those 8 days, for free, and we fed him too. I know it helped them out a lot. I'd want someone to be as kind to me if I were in their situation.

He wasn't a TOTAL stranger, but I didn't know him. I just knew his wife through a mutual friend.

Yes I have, wow a number of times, went out of my way to help a truck driver that sat on the shoulder of the road for over 4 hours, no one would help him out, went to where he was broke down and then went another almost 20 miles one way to get what he needed, took it back and made sure that he got on his way....

Yes, I drive for a volunteer ambulance service in my community. I help strangers all the time. I will be helping lots of them with blown off hands, fingers, ears, noses, and skin burns on July 4th.

Yes. There was this kid who came out of a club stumbling. I was trying to get in, but the line was too long. I came to him and talked to him to keep him concious. I told a friend to go get water as i tried to get him to tell me his name.

He seemed to be on drugs and alcohol at the least. He wouldn't give me his name or call any friends. My friend and I pretty much forced him to drink the water, but eventually he got belligerent and we had to give up.

He was sure to get in trouble otherwise....but there was nothing else we could do.

Good for you. I help when I can. Most recently, a little old lady was short $1.10 at the check-outs of a supermarket. I gave her the money.

I often help elderly people to get on and off the bus as I head for school,I help them if they want to cross the street of if they have heavy bags to carry.
