I can tell you that I know someone who has done this and never mind once but twice, that would be me! I am now single, divorced once from my first husband and still legally married to my second one that I haven't seen in 5 years, I don't know how to find him to get the divorce.
I'm now in a healthy relationship, we've been dating for some time now and we both have our own places, I won't just live with him until I feel that I really know who he is and if I want to spend this kind of time with him. I've also lived together in the past with a few different men, dating only for a very brief periods of time and this also didn't work.
My suggestion is to really get to know one another, spend quality time together, spend boring time together, spend time apart but most importantly of all communicate with one another, really get to know each other because that honeymoon does end and then if there's not a tie that binds and the both of you are not willing to WORK to keep it all together then there's no more relationship.
If you do choose to get married within the first year on knowing each other, let me be the first to wish you all the best and tons of good luck, you're going to need it!

Well I married my husband a week after talking to him on the phone and computer last October. We've been married 7 months and we had only known each other for one week before that but we never met in person until we got married. We are happily married still.

I got married within 14 months of meeting my wife. That was in 1994, still very happily married.

I know someone who has ''rushed'' into marriage. Her marriage ended in divorce within a year, and she was pregnant when it finalized.
Apparently, that didn't alter her at all, because she, again, rushed into another marriage (a month after meeting the guy online).
I only hope she has better luck this time around.

We met in Aug 1981 and married a short 10 months later in June 1982. And No, I wasn't Pregnant. :-P
We just Celebrated our 25Th wedding Anniversary.
So I guess we proved to a lot of people that it can be done.
BTW we was 18 years old.

My friend did and it ended up in divorce. A year is not long enough to really know someone. I've been with my fiance for 15 years and were happier than ever. We don't need a marriage certificate to prove it.

I did. Had my first date on Feb.3, got married March 4. Yep, only knew her 29 days. That was in 1978, and we are still married (to each other!). We got lucky.
