why would anyone refuse to answer a question by an illiterate, poor or backward person, what principle?
People from overseas know their own language and not English that well but they are trying to learn, so why not just give them credit for trying? Others don't have the money for the best of education, or some like business executives don't need to know how to spell, that's what they have secretaries for.

No, not necessarily. Some people can't spell very well. Maybe they are in a hurry. If I can make out most of the question, I try to answer it to the best of my ability.

Usually I try to tell the person to take more care in their spelling and grammar or else, as you suggest, no one is going to take it seriously.
