who believe that acts of extreme violence and terrorism is the only answer to everything?

I'm not trying to stir up trouble in asking this. Maybe I'm misguided and you'll correct my way of thinking.

But enlighten me...please...

Wasn't sure whether to put this in the Religion section, but I figured I'd get more responses in putting it here...

Thanks. I stand corrected on the categorisation. Moderate Muslims it is.

Would be nice to hear the views of some Muslims on this, but thanks to everyone who has contributed thus far...

Avail & Todd both make excellent points. Actually, I have heard a number of muslims speak out against the terrorism of their extreme fundamentalist bretheren. You just seldom read any reports about that in the popular press. You have to read muslim periodicals, or listen to muslim broadcasts. How many muslim american radio stations are there, compared to christian radio stations?

Muslims in the middle east do not always speak out because they live within reach of fatwahs. There are nearly as many muslims in the world as there are christians--perhaps even more. It is a fast growing religion. There have been plenty of historical incidents of christian atrocity. Catholics vs. protestants in Ireland. Christians vs. muslims in lebanon. The inquisition. The crusades. Christians certainly are not above reproach.

In point of fact, a bunch of religious extremists from Texas convened to declare war without provocation against a middle eastern nation. Their leader even referred to the war as "a crusade." The primary difference in this conflict is that the wealth motivation trumps any religious ideology.

Assuming you meant moderate muslims, they frequently do - it is just that some people seem determined not to hear them.
The following were just the first few I pulled out of a google search. Admittedly I did have to weed out 3 or 4 articles by the extremist likes of Michelle Malkin and Daniel Pipes claiming the rest of the results in my google search did not exist.

I can't really say for sure. I've often wondered the same thing. But a thought did occur to me as I read your question. Maybe they don't feel they should have to. Let me explain.
I'm Christian. Should I have to make an explanation for every person who goes and blows up an abortion clinic and claims God made him/her do it? No, I don't think so. I think it should be obvious that the person who does such a thing is psycho and that such a person does not represent the church in any way.
Maybe Muslims feel the same way. Maybe they feel it should be obvious that a radical who commits a heinous act does not represent their faith. Maybe we should feel some sense of shame for making the connection and then expecting them to explain away our assertions.

The fundamentalists ARE the extremists.

You mean Why don't the moderate muslims speak out more...

And i have a question too. Why don't the moderate christians speak out against all the horrid things fundamentalist christians do?

All religions are evil.

They do, but your information media highlights the extremists, for propaganda purposes and to justify what the USA and Israel are doing.

They do, but no one really pays attention.
