I have dsl in my home and have 4 computers, we all have different networks ip's obviously, but what is weird is that we all have the same internet ip, not the same as cable, if i have a certain program running in a port off my computer, so i can access it from anywhere else, can i just put the ip address that we all have plus the port, or what?...

You have one external IP address assigned to you by your ISP. You have a local router that assigns internal IP addresses via DHCP (e.g. 192.168.x.x or 10.1.x.x or similar).

You must setup port forwarding - it is essentially network address translation (NAT).

Incoming requests to the external IP on a specific port will get forwarded by the router to one of the 4 computers.

You need to set up port forwarding to your machine on the router. You will also need to subscribe to fixed ip address from the provider as your current public address is dynamic and may change at any time.
