They are remaking all the old horror movies. No good reason at all. Just a fad and a money grab. I wouldn't know if it is better or worse, because 95% of them I refuse to see.

Pop star killer got it...learn to freakin' type.
First of all, Rob Zombie did not want to remake Halloween he was asked to by the Weinstein company(Dimension films, Troublemaker Studios) if he wanted to do it, he agreed.
Secondly, the entire film is not going to be a remake. The first half will be a prequel and the second half is going to be a remake of the original.
Thirdly, Halloween is a badass movie, if you don't think so then keep wondering how people are still terrorified of it and why movie fans are still talking about it 25 years later.
Lastly, Halloween is being remade because you'll be hard pressed to find a horror director these days that has the imagination or ambition as the guys did when they made the original slasher flicks in the '70s; or a director that wants to make an entire horror movie experience and not just a halfass "horror" movie barely worth its price in shock value.

while the action picture's out, i'm going to pass and watch it. Halloween is a remake of the 1978 action picture of a similar call. The action picture substitute into written, produced and directed by Rob Zombie, and is scheduled to be released interior the u . s . (U.S.) and Canada on August 31, 2007, and an October, 2007 launch the international over. The action picture will famous guy or woman Malcolm McDowell, Tyler Mane, Brad Dourif, Danielle Harris and various different unknowns in different roles, which comprise Daeg Faerch and Scout Taylor-Compton. comments point out that the action picture in simple terms isn't a rapidly remake of the 1978 unique, yet somewhat an as much as date re-imagining. Cheers :)

First of all girl, PHONICS - learn it!
And second of all, Rob Zombie is remaking Halloween because Halloween is awesome. Remakes are also "in" for Hollywood standards and because Rob doesn't feel that Michael's origin is completely explained. It's gonna be interesting , no doubt about it.
By the way, how can you not like the remake? You haven't even seen it yet. It's not even in theaters.

Hey Rob Zombie is cool don't knock him. His movie's "House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects were great Movies. He wanted to remake Halloween because he felt as good as it was, it could have been better. He felt the original was kind of campy and he wanted to make it more raw and scarier.
