My bandit (10,500 miles) was tapping for a while (2 months) and now its starting to get pretty loud like a knock at the top front of the engine. Tap/knock as fast as the engine turns but is still very strong, fast, starts with no problems. It use to go away when it warmed up but not anymore. What do you guys think it is? Will this be an expensive fix? I bought it used with 8,500 miles and it has never been serviced. HELP!!!

With that many miles and has never been serviced (not even an oil change?)
Connecting rod bearings. And yes, that will be very expensive.
First get the valves adjusted to rule that out.

Two weeks standing is enough for modern fuel to go off. It may be that the carbs have gummed up, in fact its almost a certainty. The other option is that fuel has seeped past the fuel tap and has flooded the bike. There are two ways of starting a bike that's flooded. The first is a bump start, 2nd or 3rd gear and at a decent pace (any hills near you?) and the other option is to remove the spark plugs and turn the engine over to get rid of the spare fuel, clean and replace the plugs/spray WD-40 into the plug caps/LT leads on the coil and try to start it again. It will take a wee while for the bike to catch. To stop the fuel going of bung a can of Silkolene Pro FST in there. PS while doing the above I jump the bike from a used car battery, it saves the bike battery, just give the starter ten second bursts then rest it for ten seconds. My GPZ900R is a sod for doing it!

ur valve lash isn't in speck. Take it in for the full service, they will adjust them and change the oil. I wouldn't have bought a bike like that unless u got it dirt cheap. U are gona have some slugg in ur engine from not having clean oil.
