I still like Ike, but no moderate republican has seen the inside of the the GOP's 'big tent' in almost 30 years....isn't it time the GOP faithful gave science and reason a chance?

The Republicans must first admit that they have been had by Bush senior and the boys. That will be hard for them because Bush senior wrapped up his greatest deceit in their fondest of memories, the Reagan administration. Bush was pulling the puppet strings on that one the whole time.
I can't see them actually doing that. They are too far gone. If the country lasts more than another twenty years itself the Republican Party wont.

No. I'm still waiting for the Teddy Roosevelts and the JFK's to come back! Those would be some good elections to come!

moderate is a subjective term, societal changes are unavoidable and what was "moderate" at one time can easily become fringe in another. I think the first step is to define "moderate".

Rudy Giuliani has a really good shot at winning the nomination. He is generally considered a moderate.
