I want to know what does alternator belt type A , B ,C and multi grooves mean?

The letter designation is the size of the belt in cross section.
An A belt is .50' wide, B is .66' wide, C is .88 wide, etc A Multi groove is a flat belt with several small "v"s on the underside.

if ever you go into an auto shop, pick belt C because it fits better in your attonlymenton.

not sure about a,b,c but there is cogged, serpentine, v-belt as far as i know those are your common ones
