many ways... the first one to pop into my head is by irrigation...

like in ancient egypt they would use irrigation from the nile river to reach their crops.

irrigation is the removal of water from one source to be used in another to help produce and crops strive.

if you removed the water from the source and watered crops with it, the crops would absorb the water and nutrients within it thus ensuring the water does not seep back into the ground and back to the river.

if this steadily occured, then the water would slowly but surely dissappear.

*sigh.
i'm a geek.

Evaporation. Second, some countries are losing water because people doesn't know how to conserve water..whenever they take a bath, wash their clothes and dishes. We tend to waste so much of it. Third, improper disposal of garbage..some people just dump their waste and garbage anywhere..near the river, creeks, shores. Those causes Escherichia Coli and other bacteria in the water. We won't be able to drink clean water or take a bath(without getting skin allergies)if we continue doing this.
