5 zebra african cichlids in my 40 gallon fish tank if i have heaps of places for him to hide?????

No he would still need to walk on land && simply put him in a room with a bit of water for him so you always know where he is.:]

african cichlids wont like new companions once they establish their territory. but then again if you have places for it to hide then it should be fine. algae eater is nt exactly the friendliest fish too and should be able to mix out with the big boys. cheeros!

If you really want to, but Algae Eaters can get aggressive, and when they are mature, they can suck the slime coating off of other fish, which pretty much kills them. I think it would be okay though, because the Zebras should whip it into shape pretty quickly...

It's been my experience with Africans, once they're established in a tank, they don't like any new additions.
