Aden Name Meaning

The first time I heard that name, I was looking through a baby book. (before it became so popular) That particular baby book listed Aiden under girls names, but now I only ever see it used as a boys name.
I'm bummed it's become so darn popular, cuz I planned to use it years ago. Now I think I want to find a new name instead....

If i was calling my daughter by this name i would use Aiden but if it was my son i would use Aden.

The name can be for both boys and girls.

I always thought of Aidan as a boy's name. It went so well with Caleb & Ian that I decided on it for baby #3. We named our daughter Aidyn Elise. I think it's cute. I knew it was popular for boys, but until I named my daughter Aidyn, I had never heard of a girl w/this name. Now I see that it is gaining popularity as a girl's name too. Grrrr, I still like it.
