No, they won't, and I think your friend is yanking your chain. Being on your period has nothing to do with surgery unless they are doing it there, and if they were, they'd talk to you about it. Have your surgery, and if you feel the need tell the doc you are on your period. But I don't see why you would want to.

I have never had mouth surgery aside from having my wisdom teeth pulled but I have to wonder why you would be getting undressed for mouth surgery in the first place. If you do have to get undressed, I wouldn't worry about your tampon. Leave it in. I highly doubt they will be checkin out that area in the first place. If you still feel nervous about the whole thing, run it by your admitting nurse and she can re-assure you.

Since they are doing surgery on your mouth, I don't think it will make a differance.

However, talk to your nurse when you get there. They might ask you to wear a pad instead of a tampon but you'll be ok!

I had my tonsils removed during my period and nothing happened in regards to me being on my period. If you want to make sure, tell the nurse and they will tell you how to proceed. If it is mouth surgery, this it should not be an issue at all.

You can mention to your surgeon that you are menstuating but it does not prevent or postpone surgery.

When you get admitted by the nurse in to your room you tell her you have your period and she will tell you what to do.
