I have overprotective parents. They hesitate to let me do anything that they consider "unsafe" or "dangerous". I wonder if other kids who don't have overprotective parents are better off than I am, experience-wise and anything in general.

I'd like to know your thoughts/opinions.

I forgot to add one very important detail: I'm 22.

I'm just saying "kids" in general.

Hey you,
I am the same way. Very overprotective parents. But then I went to college and was really greatful. There are so many wild kids completely disrespecting themselves and you can tell they had little home training. You know right from wrong. Experience others but always keep your parents strict advice in the back of your head!

This will sound weird, but enjoy the fact that you have over-protective parents that care so much about you, & enjoy your childhood. The time will come all too quickly, where you will be out there making decisions on your own-Not as much fun as you would think, alot of the time. Coming from a "not-so-sheltered" kid, it was tough trying to make my own way, & make sense of things on my own, growing up. It would've been nice to think that somebody was there, looking out for me.

good question. I think there's pros and cons to everything, but overall, I think I'm pretty lucky I had parents who were "protective" of me.

i mean, they are the only parents I've got and I love them and thank God for them everyday!
