As an Australian I find it very confusing to hear Americans insulting each other over politics. Correct me if I am wrong but you have a Republican party who are represented by people from just right of centre who accept certain levels of concern for the "working" class to those who expect citizens to be self reliant with little government interference, especially in relation to big business. Combined they fall well short of being fascist.
Then you have the Liberals who vary from just left of centre and not much different to some republicans to those who want to give more support to those they see as deprived and at the same time control the excesses of big business to some degree. Combined they are a long way from communism.
Having said all that I think it is fair to say you have very few people who are either communist or fascist.

You are the only one who thinks Cons who constantly rail on YA about Liberals being Communists and/or socialists wouldn't know a true Communist if they spoke to one. Do you know the difference between liberal democracy, and representative democracy?

Communism and socialism are economic theories liberalism is a way of thinking. I also depends on how you define liberalism. We are a nation of different kinds and types of people. What is liberal to me depends where I stand.
Communism as more a theory has never worked. When the bolsheviks took Russia and Lien returned he said that for a time it would have to be a dictatorship. And as Fredrick Engels predicted the scum always rises to the top.
It is our nature to want to be free yet in fear we give up our presious freedoms.

hehe. it's so true, there are many differences and people don't seem to know them. The funny thing is that people use these as insults to the people. Maybe they need to learn about each of the main theories before insulting people by displaying their stupidity.

I don't know or care if you are or not. The question is no more than an insult, and an attempt to make people think you know something. That's enough for me not to have any respect for what you think.

I would think that from all the constant rails on YA about Conservatives, Liberals wouldn't know what one is if they spoke to one.

And I still blame public education.

I've served on the DMZ in Korea in the 70's and Fulda Gap in the 80's. I know what a communist is, both ideologically and in reality. I seriously doubt you have a clue.

Isn't it funny the insults that conservatives dish up? There's something wrong with the politics board here.
There is a constant theme of portraying liberals as traitors by many people with a lot of anger and undeveloped minds.
What they don't realize is that they are the one's promoting fascism.

Actually I was born and raised in Europe and lived through the cold war . I was very grateful to the USA for keeping the soviets of our back and yes I have met plenty of communist types over in Europe that is why I can smell one a mile away. It starts with liberalism then very rapidly descends into full fledged communism.
