Right now, I'd say, if I had to be a serpent, I'd be an old python....cunning, relentless, methodical almost to the point of being glacially slow....might still have some of that *crushing* thing going on.
But deep down I have some cobra or viper envy going on....part of me wants to be young and small, to still be able to "float like a butterfly" at least if not "sting like a bee".
Because I kind of *know* what stinging like a *bee* entails: for some it is a self-destructive effort.
Still, some days I can't help but be a bit jealous of the quick and agile (or resentful of my methodical, somewhat slower-paced nature).

As far as the serpentes goes I used to have a pet python so as it was an excellent pet I'll say the reticulated python
